As spring makes its way
12 January 2016

Lucid dreams awake
Ice yesterday’s snow grown cold
Faith a kindling fire
Wish upon a star
Watch it travel translucent
Into horizons
I will reach you there
Our bodies luminous arks
Love’s aspiration

Thoughts limpid as snow
Anticipation of chill
Flowing through the bones

The souls translucent
Travel through winter’s long breath
A world of belief
Your heart’s white crystals
Promise of pearls for my heart
Dewdrops a lifeline
Thawing crystal flakes
Hope a glimmer of relief
As spring makes its way

Written using the words from Ronovan Writes Haiku Prompt and challenge for this week, Hope and Crystal. Pingback and rules here

Thank you Thomas. Sometimes all we have is hope and dreams of a better future for all, the highest good as they call it 🙂

This gives such hope and promise in what can sometimes be an overwhelming place. Spring is just around the corner and is evident everywhere I look. A beautiful piece but then I never expect anything less from your very capable self.

Thank you Annie. How sweet of you to say so. Sorry I did not react but as I was telling others I am not getting the notifications properly. Spring is always around the corner yes. Be well.

Thank you Eric. It might sound surprising but the idea came from the song Diamonds sung by Rihanna. I was viewing the video and when she smokes the diamonds I was thinking about lungs and then about heart, hence the image and link to the rest 🙂

I haven’t seen any thawing crystal flakes yet, but I’m looking forward to them. Great seasonal haiku.

Thank you. I am glad you liked it. I actually might have slipped in a Senryu or two as well so categorised it in both. We should have hairyu and Senku to make up for these situations 🙂

I suppose then you might have people arguing whether a particular poem was a hairyu or a senku. 🙂

Awwww cmon! It is a hairyu if it is mostly a haiku and a bit of a senryu and senku the other way around (like people actually agree fully on what is a haiku and what is a senryu 😀 bwahahahaaa). Thank goodness Thomas Ledrew does not visit your page or he would rap me on the knuckles for learning things wrong 😀
ah ah ah I just realised we were commenting on my own page 😛

I’m convinced, but I’m not sure if Thomas Ledrew will be. You’d better think up your excuses before he notices. 🙂

It’s okay he is a sweet soul really. Just not sure whether his previous teacher instincts would kick in, lol

Well, even if they did, I’m sure he’d be very nice about it. 🙂

Thank you Tosha. I wrote once about the two feelings hope and grief; I often alternate between them my mind and “heartset”. As an empath, I might be feeling very joyful yet will be full of sadness a minute later if I cross the path of someone depressed

Yes, now that the holidays have passed I suppose we are all just waiting for spring. Lovely verse as usual!

Thank you Marissa. Here it is actually already spring because my garden is full of flowers even though the weather is slightly cooler (circa 17 degrees celsius)
