In split particles
23 April 2016

Slow and sure
I see it unfold
Morrow’s mirth
Future birth
Small signs of recognition
Synchronicity
Never seen
Barely understood
Confusion
Of the mind
Stripped it of significance
The empty treasure
You saw me
In split particles
The light shades
Darkening
Impact of the heart’s features
Chest empty vessel

I hold it
Like a precious bird
The future
Shining bright
Like a mirror in glazed eyes
When the light seeps in
Chosen path
Possibilities
Fate’s remnants
Event’s turn
Twisting through the true meanings
Known by pure of heart
We depart
With the day’s work done
You twin sun
My soul’s blood
I keep you within the core
Though fate never more
Reading of the poem:

Vide cor meum – Patrick Cassidy based on La Vita Nuova (A ciascun alma presa)
Great write. I especially like the second and third stanzas.

Is there a sense of surviving loss in this, too?

I guess you could say that to an extent, Derrick
