Walking through sunshades

Walking through sunshades

17 July 2011

I walked along

One sunny day

And I smelt furlong

The simmering hay

This is not a feeling to lose

This is the life I choose

I walked in song

On earthen clay

No path of wrong

Could lead me astray

This is not party and booze

This is the life I choose

I walked so long

Till light faded away

Heart on a prong

Lone lung in decay

This is not cutting loose

This is the life I choose

As I walked headstrong

Through a day that lay

With a shadow oblong

That my being did flay

This is not a hopeless noose

This is the life I choose

Of memory a throng

Tempted me to sway

From a present strong

That to me did belay

This is not an empty roose

This is the life I choose

Walking takes lifelong

On doom or joy’s way

Both I knew erelong

Would each other relay

This is not some moody blues

This is the life I choose
