As Time constricts me
25 March 2016

Remember
We used to talk soft
Hidden veils
Draped our frames
Before we learnt to play games
Of stony details
I breathe in
Summertime’s fancies
It rings wild
With sun’s heat
Postman rings thrice upon doors
Then admits defeat
We wiped floors
Our bodies intense
Locked in flames
Purple maze
We hold worlds but skins we graze
Touch of the shallow
Remember
We used to know hearts
They beat strong
Beneath veins
Blue bearing red they travelled
In inner landscapes
Map of stars
Fusion of twilight
Light and dark
Dull and spark
We are deep book of secrets
That some read aloud
I whisper
Sum of my numbers
In spirals
Within wells
The axe joins tree that it fells
As Time constricts me
Reading of the poem:

Summertime – Ella Fitzgerald & Louis Armstrong
Night and Day – Ella Fitzgerald
Taking a chance on love – Ella Fitzgerald
Oh my those last two stanzas are magnificent! Pure lyric gold!
