Return to shadows

September and 23 December 2010

When she is gone and is no more

Surely it will remain there her smile

Like a nasty little wound in the core

But open hardly more than a while

For as the night softly engulfs her

She creeps back into a dark shadow

That is all she could now remember

Of what was once her shining glow

And you onlooker such sweet mortal

Just like the flames that you still stir

Shall remain for her like a lost portal

Like a sweet entrance but now a blur

And while you might take your shower

And in a broken speedboat take a ride

Like a waning and yet drunken flower

Back into sweet death she shall glide

Some could seek return to innocence

Others on darkness would ride alone

Life shall lose any and all of its sense

For those whose heart became stone
