Chirping birds
8 April 2016

When time comes
Back to the basics
The soul flocks
Remembrance
A tale of the pale gridlocks
That restricted Heart
What once was
Dissolved in nothing
Mere shadow
Of its might
With distance comes stronger sight
The age sets optics
Dioptric
Play on geometry
Focal point
Wavering
Youth but stubborn myopic
Prolonging blindness
Coarse regret
Now a grinning clown
Lips stretched pink
Heart goes down
Wandering with centipedes
No mind that impedes
Soothing air
Courses through my lungs
Wane threads stir
Clouds that sink
The knots in tips of the fir
As it battles skies
Hark now hear!
Through their constant cries
Chirping birds
Remind us
Of the roots that bore the tree
Taller than lifetimes
Reading of the poem:
The birds on my window sill and on the tree neighbouring my window:

Simply You – Secret Garden
Lovely image here…although it can be disturbing in the early morning when one is trying to sleep! Ha, ha!

Ah ah Marissa. I know what you mean but somehow they never seem to chirp when I want to sleep 🙂 . Thanks for reading and commenting with your usual wit

Good for you! I rarely have that problem anymore but when I was going out and wanted to sleep late, often was a time I wanted to throw a rock at the poor defenseless creatures.

I particularly like the last stanza, especially as a neighbour’s tree is filled with chirping birds for most of the year

Thank you Derrick. I love chirping birds. They are a reminder that life is filled with joy and should be perceived as such :). It has been almost three years now that birds decided to flock heavily around my house and stay even through the scorching summer. It’s a real blessing.

Is it the Chirping birds that tell and remember of our aging.

Perhaps yes Shiva. Perhaps they are the hands of time going backwards and forward reminding us of memories past or future 🙂
