Waters filled my Heart
26 November 2015

Thoughts rushing like shards
Withered stories of the past
A suit of tremors
Random cuttings loose
Around my body’s fillings
Stuffed liver in goose
The sea broke in me
With blue waves that surged hungry
Silenced sound of shells

He said come on smile
It is all just dark shadows
Discard them a while

I yearned to be free
Make sorrows a future thought
Memories’ splinter
So I wrecked my cheeks
Breaking them into rictus
Taught line of pretence
I painted my face
Frozen mask of happiness
Waters filled my Heart

Marco Masini – Ci vorrebbe il mare
And each time we try to remove the mask our own skin is stripped away. “Suits of Armor” That describes the feeling well. Touchingly elegant.

a drowned heart wearing a painted smile…sometimes we force our ‘happiness’ to mask the pain inside…this is beautiful, Geetha

Thank you Thomas. Yes, sometimes we do it well and sometimes we just can’t be bothered anymore.
