Bigotry

Say woman

They will say demon,

holding tight

rosaries

the breath compressed as it flees

from their seething teeth

The blood seeps

Its way onto thighs

Preachers’ lies

escort it

animal to hide away

till the roll in hay

Changeling

The bosom upright

till night dawns

into age

the tautness gives in to sage

Silver crests the head

Lost the youth

Hymen thing of past

Who to judge

what will last?

When shoulders upright no more

unmarked then the whore

Hold the part

An act for two plays

rolls its ways

into world

we hoist up the sail unfurled

Emblem of our heart

Pick a tree

Pick a blooming side

They vote for

bigotry

eyes closed to our history

The unleveled ride
