I fly within a dream a restless nest
7 January 2016

I fly within a dream, a restless nest
Wings fluttering keen, Heart spent in earnest
A wicker and flame, rancid pile of coal
Roaring fire to tame, will consume me whole
Smoothing the feathers that smother my breast
Carried from yonder of places the best
Enchanted wonder of poets the fest
Now light me ablaze catch fire to soul
I fly within a dream, a restless nest
Wings fluttering keen, Heart spent in earnest
A wicker and flame, rancid pile of coal
Windless the night’s peak, no branch here to rest
Of chatter the weak would keep me abreast
The silence within, a gift to console
The blood that ran thin, a tear that heart stole
A look at these doubts, a moment of test
I fly within a dream, a restless nest
Wings fluttering keen, Heart spent in earnest
A wicker and flame, rancid pile of coal
Roaring fire to tame, will consume me whole
Smoothing the feathers that smother my breast

Above the older version of the rondeau with the restatements and full refrain. Below the modern version with just the first three words of the restatement.

I love this, Geetha. I think I like the second one slightly better. 🙂

First, these images are spectacular. Perfect for the subject. But your writing has a mystical quality to it. Different from many of the other work you read in Blogville. You words are often positive and therapuetic.
Stopping at your page is a calming influence of peace and love.

Thank you Andrew, what a beautiful compliment. If I can do just a bit of that, I feel my purpose has been achieved. Thanks again 🙂

Gorgeous. Keep flying. I would love to see you and Eric write a poem together. Just a suggestion

Thank you Tosha 🙂 What a great idea`! I seldom wrote with another person and specially a poem. Well actually I did in a roundabout way. I have a page called Décalcomaxi where I used to twist around the words of a fellow poet and make them into poems using the same letters or sometimes the same syllables. I also wrote a short story with a facebook friend but never a poem in collaboration. It might be quite interesting to do. Thanks for the suggestion 🙂 xoxo

You’re welcome. You two seem to have similar styles but distinct too.
