Heavens’ particles
15 June 2016

Grief squashes
All semblance of hope
The mind numb
Heart broken
Happiness a lost token
Of revolving times
Stilling mind
Whirling into space
Pitch balance
Zero point
Where everything is nothing
A change of vision
Joy washes
Memory of grief
Renewed fresh
Hope seeker
The mind attempts ways meeker
Turning a new leaf
Like a tree
Casting away leaves
Growing new
Extensions
We wage ways through pretensions
Society’s weight
Inside us
Silent observer
It watches
The motion
Lost to world and emotion
It shines in sun’s dust
They cling on
Heavens’ particles
Through bodies
That relay
The birthright’s lost miracles
Unbeknownst to most
Reading of the poem:

Wings – Birdy
Joy transcending grief – great optimism

Thank you Derrick. I sometimes waver but am an optimist at heart 🙂
