I gather my strength and run, I run

I embrace the New Year before me

Like morning dew, a sweet spring-time sun

Shedding winter’s woes in ecstasy

Let’s rejoice, sing, skip, dance, prance, have fun

Split words hitting the caves of my mind

Jammed with the numbers, breathless it spun

Reeling, then to a halt did it grind?

I care not; I dare not be the one

Who sits and frets while others rejoice

Yet gnawing still at my core as none

Loud and clear echoes that damned, doomed voice

“A cycle of seven gone but one

Still some gloom lies ahead of our way

Resist temptation till it is done

Nine months for a hope to light our day”
