Did spring arrive early?
27 December 2015

The sand gathered
Rain attempted paths
Would desert gain terrain?
Puddles formed slow
The roads were heavy
Why did my Heart feel light?
The flowers bloomed
My Heart sang larky
Did spring arrive early?

With a special thanks to Dajena aka moonskittles for introducing me to the form of the Questionku (learn more about it here) and to Thomas aka hooklineandinkwell for giving me the extra nudge to attempt it.

Thank you for your sweet words but really as you will be translating and singing you may choose from any of the poems already posted if it does not have to be specific lyrics 🙂

Me too Tony. Actually on Lullaby even Sarah Vaughan has an amazing interpretation 🙂

That spring! Which rushes faster than anything else. Beautiful Geetha! Loved them! 😀

Thank you Dajena, also for introducing me to the form. I quite like it because I actually used to have questions in mind when I was writing Tankas so this form sits well with that mood. Am glad you like them 🙂

🙂 I am always ready to find new forms too, and I am always happy to see someone else is as crazy as I am 😀

Have you tried Alexandrin and Pantoum? I have a few in those forms.
I am a freak for forms 😀 but not if they don’t flow well with me. The only one I got from Thomas and did not flow with properly was the Sijo which I only tried once. Of late I am somehow getting drawn to it again so maybe I will write something in that form soon.

Great writing, Geetha…way to use the form perfectly! Especially love the contrast between heavy roads and light-heartedness!

Your poetry is beautiful. But, still, did spring arrive early? 🙂

Thanks Monica. Lol, I don’t know about elsewhere but in Dubai we have the particularity that when it is winter in Europe or the US it actually is something akin to spring here so my garden is full of flowers and birds for example 🙂

Here in Romania was supposed to be snow now, instead it’s sunny and warm like in the springtime, Geetha. And I want to snow!

Oh my friend I totally understand. I have not seen snow in ages and I miss it so much. I hope you get snow for New Year’s Eve 🙂
