The purple rays of twilight
30 July 2016

Withered leaves
Pages of the fall
Skies that shut
Behind clouds
A lone voice among the crowds
The haunting whispers
Sun shivers
The warmth receding
Into dark
Broken lark
Searching for chirps in bosom
As flow runs crimson
Eyes open
To the wilderness
Looking glass
Mirrors sight
The purple rays of twilight
Suffusing the night
Reading of the poem:

Autumn Leaves – Eva Cassidy
Ain’t no Sunshine – Eva Cassidy
Nightbird – Eva Cassidy
I love Eva Cassidy. Thank you for the song and the amazing poetry.

Welcome and thank you for your kind words John. I find she had a beautiful voice and soul and I actually thought about you when I chose the song Nightbird. Somehow I thought you might relate to it.

I added her to my favorite. One of the greats.

Yes, definitely. How sad that she did not live longer to give us more of her gifts
