Eyes downcast
The moon spoke to me
Of her past
Silvery
when her rays were more than words
homecoming of birds

They call shrill
nesting to declare
I survey
birds of prey
Their claws rake my window sill
for my wits to snare

Tomorrows
neat as sleek primrose
they spell hunt
with knives blunt
The sharpening on the knee
my white bones to see

Sense the blair
It smells monsoon’s flare
wars to win
through the din
Pouring rains wash off the bloods
unruly the floods

Weather dreams
inside out it screams
Dead the king
song to sing
the banshees wail upside down
downfall of the crown

The sun sweeps
its rays stricken bare
dragon sleeps
in its lair
My prince for now bedraggled
my eyes bedazzled

Crescent moon to leave

Crescent moon to leave

Wolves hurry
across the landscapes
fiery crops
burning high
Bosom utters not a sigh
crossing through the flames

Horses dive
through etheric lanes
shaking manes
hooves thunder
The moonlit sights a wonder
etched into our hearts

Two to grieve
My breast torn did heave
coils cleft
none bereft
They ask me now in pieces
crescent moon to leave

A goodbye to royalty

A goodbye to royalty

Dwindling spot of light
sinking in the skies
Ebb of the sun’s rays

Wane moon rises high
Dribble of silver oozing
a stream runs through night

Reflux of the breeze
Bubbles of air in river
Flow of the current

Three weave the stories
Their fingers points of flux gush
with oncoming rush

The stars now retreat
The winds drop on rising tides
The throngs flood the gates

Drift in the bees’ hive
A goodbye to royalty
stages in decay

The dust had settled

Landscapes gyrating

Moon a backdrop of ashes

the Earth spun onwards

The soot filled the sky

fragments disintegrating

the ground split in flakes

Dirt strewn everywhere

the flowers lost to the weed

battles in gardens

Tea estates littered

cinders from the teeming pit

Magmatic plates moved

Soil’s upheaval

The hills turned into mountains;

valleys disappeared

Churning sand of time

Gradual recovery

the dust had settled

The waters flowed calm

The waters flowed calm

The elements raged

Pelting rain tore at my cheeks

The storm’s pace quickened

A raven called hoarse

a mild reminder of death

beak lost in twister

Rising in the skies

Gusts of wind shook free my frame

I recounted time

A single line drawn

across my heaving chest’s throb

The tempest, silenced

Soothing thoughts surfaced

As hurricane receded

into oblivion

The waters flowed calm

Monsoon surge a memory

Its downpour wasted

Folding unfolding

myriads of images strewn

Memory a lark

Beams of crescent moon

tugged slow at my lips’ corners

A nightingale sang

Words interrupted

stilled my heart in deep silence

like water it flowed

I yearn for your untouched skin

I yearn for your untouched skin

I want to seep into your bones

like the chill of a winter night

I yearn for your untouched skin

its shadows now forever closed to me

like a book of secret pleasures

stowed away in a convent of nuns

With the yearning of a lifetime

I haul myself through summer

burdened by the winter’s pull

It hangs like dead leaves

fallen from a tree

where spring had once made its way

The fruit now lays barren untouched

like the skin of dead virgins

stopped in their tracks by an unknown war

their unseeing eyes swallowed

by the onslaught of darkness

I yearn for your untouched skin

Its light now a pale moon

rising in the midst of the hollow night

where only the waterhen cry

in a place I now call home

where the seagulls laugh no more

The garden silent

The rose bush alit by thorns

Featured stems thorn birds

Wisteria clung

Otherworldly shapes of grapes

Under silver moon

Peace within our hearts

Moonlight rising in our souls

In love we gathered

Planets surrounded his slight frame

The moon shaped his glory

A shadow aloof with no name

In him untold story

I breathed upon him melodies

Danced entranced for his eyes

All efforts spent for him in ease

Enticed his very sighs

Desire got him to his feet

Throb in heart felt so strong

With tenderness skipping a beat

Music in soul played along

Whisper secret tones

Cast again veil of darkness

End wayward duress

Relinquish the day

Shine moon over the sun’s glare

Lessen light to bear

Chant the night to me

In soft-spoken melodies

Carried by the breeze
