Summarised translation of the Alexandrin French poem into English

When the pallor of the future to be extinguished arises
January 12, 2022
Courtesy Rodrigo Luff
We will no longer go to the woods like light children
Eyes filled with dreams and tender desires
We will no longer have this winged music at the tips of our fingers
The ear will sound the end of these fantastic pleasures

Let’s lift up the shards of our tangled hearts
When the sap slowly flows into a beautiful elixir
Witness of our frolics sealing great escapes
Duty wants us to die in a last sigh

Will we count the secrets of intrepid soldiers
Stiffened by the pain of fatherland to embrace
Flags to be hoisted in a freezing cold
When the pallor of the future to be extinguished arises

New virus attacked
Roll of thunder announced it;
connected minds roared

The disease flared through
Decay spread through synapses;
infection rumbled

Head counted microbes
The future resounded through
the boom of the bugs

Germs in each corner
Spelt name of a new species
that grumbled through space

The winds carried me
delicate wings fluttering
in ascent of skies

Dark clouds gathered tight
In graceful touch of the night
while the moons surged sleek

The days’ rise upturned
sunlit landscapes glittered white
The tides washed the beach

Sparkling sugar straits
reflections of sandy slopes
swell under the sun

Bright eyes stretch inwards
gathering the suns rays’ kiss
irises spotless

The sea progresses
my body in solemn vow
meets dizzy waves’ pull

Of lucid embrace transient phase

Of lucid embrace transient phase

Glory of new-found mystery
The rhythm of the feet now changed
Embracing magic once estranged
Bodies melted in ecstasy;

Like long lost pagan symphony
The moon the clouds in night did chase
Fervent dancers in trembling daze
They locked their arms in restless link
Skies defined them in magic ink
Of lucid embrace transient phase

A goodbye to royalty

A goodbye to royalty

Dwindling spot of light
sinking in the skies
Ebb of the sun’s rays

Wane moon rises high
Dribble of silver oozing
a stream runs through night

Reflux of the breeze
Bubbles of air in river
Flow of the current

Three weave the stories
Their fingers points of flux gush
with oncoming rush

The stars now retreat
The winds drop on rising tides
The throngs flood the gates

Drift in the bees’ hive
A goodbye to royalty
stages in decay

Serenity sweeps

Serenity sweeps

3 October 2020

A lark calls morning

Waking my mind from slumber

sunshine stirs all frames

`

My eyes now gather

your face falling into place

behind closed eyelids

`

Serenity sweeps

into my beating heart’s cage

its throbs flying free

Summer turned lazy

It watched the path to waters

sizzle under rain

My footsteps left stains

of earthen recollections

green grass and brown dirt

The winding path led

To where waters encountered

stillness of my breath

Smother not

The wilful intent

It breathes low

Remedies

For the dark venture to cease

The mind none to tease

Pursue Art

Within mighty heart

The power

To harness

Kingdoms beyond the darkness

Where brave stand duress

Look beyond

Written in the skies

The hearts paired

The souls spared

The breach a keen reminder

When the mind despaired

Remember

The chirping robin?

When it came

From within

Heartbeats paired with rising spring

Composed song to sing

The dewdrops

Parallel to lash

Bated breath

Composure

Of beating lungs exposure

Strength of heart measure

Drawn insight

Stealth within the light

The darkness

Now vivid

Shining lighthouse all imparts

In shape of our hearts

Did you feel

My waking anthem?

It speaks not

It fears not

It crawls alive down mountains

Measured in sentence

The wet tides

They crave beaten shores

Where I dance

Unison

Downtrodden path of danger

The will a stranger

I heed not

The hushed countenance

The words packed

In bosom

Now descending in quivers

They run through rivers
