Skipping beat

Alice on her feet

Grave matters

She tended

Left brain right brain no brain left

The skull only bones

 

Did they tune

Right into what’s left

Was the rune

Now just cleft

Skulls then only left bereft

Congenial theft

 

Would it fit

The brain and the wit

She pranced up

Buttercup

Not again said the Hatter

We’ve done this before

 

Don’t be sore

Hatter said Alice

Did you miss

Extra tea

I assure you you will see

Keep me company

 

How childish

She had no real brain

Hatter smiled

Going wild

Was one of delicacies

Perhaps worth the pain

 

Let it rain

Shower me golden

The mirth lost

On wizened

It was all only water

They carry

Burden of Bounty

Inside skull

Brittle dull

Their minds surpassing beauty

Their hearts shades of Grey

 

They marry

Interweaving keen

Faith and lies

Dark and skies

In grey they lost purple sheen

Their worlds turned dismay

 

They tarry

Relentless abode

Of the mind

Shaped unkind

With barking wolves once they rode

Deeper into fray

 

The lesson

Learnt in hindsight pale

Foresight cost

Timber lost

Wooden plates for banquet stale

From mind games they play

 

Heart dragon

Flame for braver kind

Breathing low

Lights that glow

Stream of atoms now remind

Of forgotten day

 

We summon

Protectors of Truth

Speaking loud

Within cloud

Fleeting touch

Intensified grip

As I dip

Into you

Spilling over countenance

Your voice my penance

 

Silent prayer

The nuns mortified

Broken words

Leading herds

Into the gardens of dark

Gone is the light spark

 

Night crawlers

They worship the skull

Lonely bones

Adorning

Intricate architecture

Hallways of priesthood

 

The suns rise

In confined spaces

Crisp contours

Black white squares

Sunsets and sunrises spent

As brood-breeding mares

 

Fences dense

Virgins lily white

Pulsating

Sacred heart

Of eras of knighthood toils

The best of the spoils

 

Rising star

Bees and flies flutter

By your sight

Twin twilight

Purple points to where we are

Erected on marsh

We play games

Peek-a-boo

Tugging of pony tails harsh

Boys will be snide boys

 

Broken toys

Token of the might

Winged souls

Messengers

Of stories I will hear not

Cast out to the dark

 

Unbridled

A tale of two stars

Rekindled

He recounts

Attempting to ignite spark

Of down trodden glows

 

Spirit flies

Hovering in skies

His demeanour

Meekness sly

Embarking upon journey

Built upon a lie

 

I rip net

Sheet tool of balance

Mermaids freed

Swim ashore

Walking feet overcome sore

Of transformation

 

Spirit tamed

Casts the road roses

Curtains pulled

Light galore

Sets my eye upon Moses

Miracles waver

 

Tall nights cull

Moonbeams to shower

Skull and bones

Towering stones

In the dark he will cower
