Ire burnt in hearts
while the Scots paved a free road
Return to glory
The lights flashed on her
Like a mural painted white
she emerged from night
The wizards combined
potions for resurrection
counting dead eyes’ beat
Midnight’s toll rang still
heavy doors creaked sullenly
lanterns hissed their glare
Glint in pupils lost
bedtime struck at eventide
dark everlasting
November skies bled
a flag flying at half mast
symbol of demise
