On the road to redemption

On the road to redemption

21 September 2018

Heavens’ bloom coughed mirth

Opposites struck many deals

Kindred spirits waned

Memories clung tight

On the road to redemption

Moonlight composed odes

Fierce energies collided

Futures vanished with no trace

Horizons were shorn

Heady scents lingered

On the road to redemption

Knees resisted weight

Words pricked my eardrums

Dreams of tomorrow caught up

Thoughts’ speed was worthless

Bluebells hung their head

On the road to redemption

Castles vanished fast

The grass was greener

The grass was greener

She looked across the battered fields lying scorched by the heat around her frame in veils. From afar came its glint, shining eerily under the summer sun. So infused with more than just a hint of light she felt she should run towards it for it looked so beautifully green, it was almost lime-like in its iridescent sheen. She imagined the dewdrops painting life-like shadows alongside the blades of grass, twirling with these latter in those meadows a long-forgotten dance. She could almost sense the hum of the grasshoppers, the sound of brass invading her mind with their invitation to prance.

An arm brushing past hers tore her thoughts away from that beautiful island and its mighty sway. The field around her was buzzing in glee with grey-faced workers in neat rows of three attempting so desperately to instill some life back into the withered plants going downhill. The water ran from their giant cans dark, muddy and lifeless, not even a spark. She watched them smother rather than water the field as more sand and dirt was all the cans would yield. Here and there some poppies had survived, their wild nature breaking free revived by the view of the skies from the murky lands ties.

It was the bluebells that withered the most. Their head hung, their face downcast, they looked like this time they would never last. The secular trees of themselves a ghost looked over the horizons, a sight only they could boast and realised that perhaps this was the last year they would play host to the hundreds of bluebirds that on their branches found outpost to watch the first sunrise. Suddenly a ray split the skies and onward came rains of the most frightful might. To the field workers they were though the most beautiful sight as they gathered out of ranks not bothering how offering to the rain their weather-beaten brow as it washed away the mud. The oldest of trees came down with a thud and as the land under it drank the rain a damp and soon mossy stance took over its grounds again and again and again.

She looked across the reddened field to the brink of where her sight would yield. She looked back to the moss growing on that new land. Its glint was known to her not a new brand. Both far and near she could see it so clear.

The grass was greener.

Hold the thought

It rings with solace

Of hundreds

Of dead stars

They carve infinity’s ways

The suns in arrays

Neatly tucked

Within folds of me

This is Time

Bluebells chime

They ring to glory of One

Where all had begun

Listen hard

The voices speak soft

They cast light

And shadows

Upon heavenly meadows

Wherein knights are made

There are roads

Winding through thickets

Wild bushes

Tangled trees

The heart of where humming bees

Fierce lead to freedom

The bridges

In between the worlds

They shiver

Rumbling stone

On their tar I walk alone

My feet grey blue smoke

I hear calls

Of towering bluebells

They ring knells

Of kingdoms

Cheshire cat whose head I stroke

Purrs in mirth’s response

They abscond

The reasons excuse

Their flight dark

Bridled spark

We walk while dogs sit and bark

Random happenings

The chest heaves

Ounces of regret

Woven tight

Into might

Fading strength as he believes

Truth of falling leaves

Knitted words

Loose ends flying high

Encounter

Indentures

Between whispers and the sigh

I find your heartbeat

The fleeting travels

Of bees, birds and of fireflies

Across winter skies

The breath of Thunder

Bolting through the cloudy shroud

A blanket of stars

Bright the eerie nights

As shadows slink into lights

Waning mysteries

Dissolve the cobwebs

Spiders’ work will blow no more

Chilly winds of Toth

Slaves of yesterday

Rise to seasonal high tides

Spring will set them free

The smiles of morrows

Etched in infinity’s bluebells

Between bow and tie

Days will cut fabrics

Nights will stitch together hems

Of blackbirds new flags

Weeping in past tense

Hearts dawn to new reckonings

Upon sunlit paths

The sun will set blaze

A cross tidal waves that climb

Within Heart’s waters

Christen the daughters

Ivy, Jasmine, Mistletoe

The winding creepers

Shutters braced open

With all of Heart’s bright vessels

Golden beginnings

Of Gold the linings

Stained red with tinmen’s droplets

Vessels of Copper

Of thirteenth the month

A backdrop of new life’s roots

Minds traces scented

Red roses blooming in thoughts

Whirlwinds of flowers

Blue skies float through me

Daisies and bluebells colours

Paint sun’s warmth in me

I dive into you

Explosion of red senses

You are everywhere

Purple stars twine me

Hazy red engulfs my frame

Amniotic Love

Shades of your presence

Crimson haunting through body

Pulsing vibrations

Silken ascension

Gliding through shimmering realms

Dividing waters

Twin leap through portals

The above meets the below

Synchronised flowing

Surging waterfalls

Swimming in between twin worlds

A bridge to elsewhere

Respite in brief touch

Shadowlands bluest tremors

Lost kingdoms’ crowning

Delicate jewels

Sunken ships of mind’s embers

A cave of treasures

Wings of vapours lift

Simmering coals bolster feet

The airborne ravens

A walk on waters

Weightlessness in destiny

Miracles in Heart

Above red roses

Where daffodils outreached sun

Inside met outside

Up the lone highway

Winding steep and weightless stones

Coloured bent footpaths

Beside pine trees’ cones

When snow caressed them silent

Shuddering branches
