Lady of the Lake
1 January 2017
The fool yawns
Brethren’s darkened spawns
History
In making
From the skull and bones aching
The truth often dawns
In Legends
Beginning upends
Within dreams
Muffled screams
Of the red roses stutters
Restless mind mutters
Burnt on stake
Lady of the Lake
Red in blue
Infused hue
Holy blood the long-lost clue
In Time will renew

It was my love of Arthurian legend that led me to choose Mordred as my crossword setter’s pseudonym

I think that history can be well taught through legends as can future too sometimes. My choice was always Galahad 🙂

So was mine, before I became a setter and had to follow tradition and choose an evil character 🙂
