Mother wakes
Shaking off the crusts
From past wounds
Stretching taut
We receive havoc we brought
With our tiny hands
Tall splendour
She unfolds her gait
Ninth wonder
Defines her
Moving through Eleventh gate
Lava and thunder
Molten breath
She trembles and heaves
With the tides
As she rides
Brings upon us Mercy’s death
Split faith her stallion
The blind screech
They cling to tatters
Dying leech
Mind flatters
While the seeing heart scatters
The law of Talion
The children
Survivors of wreck
They sail lone
No captain
Only ghosts upon the deck
As they whimper lost
We reborn
From scattered blue coil
Remember
Past glory
Huddled in ship hear story
Of ancestors’ toil
Now rejoice
I will remind you
How we fled
Tomorrow
Leaving behind us sorrow
Shedding it like leaves
Nasal voice
Through Time’s loudspeaker
Calls for me
Warning shrill
It transforms to wing my gill
Splitting the ethers
Hurry child
Follow flight of birds
They head South
Where waters
Split through the red desert storms

No, I chose not to have children–as I’m a survivor of parental abuse, and sometimes/often the abuse repeats, which scared me too badly to gamble on any child I would bear.

So sorry about that. I would think that with such a mindset you would never have engaged in abuse towards your children. It is true that sometimes it repeats but sometimes it is the opposite that happens and a survivor of parental abuse is actually the kindest and one of the best parents

Well–and this is sharing more than I usually would–I had early signs that I would repeat the abuse, because as the eldest of 6 children, I had too much responsibility for their care–and saw myself being very harsh and unloving toward them–which resulted in complete estrangement to this day. So I had no hope that I’d change in future.

Thank you for sharing but bear in mind you were a child yourself though elder and you had that responsibility thrust upon you so you had had no time to heal, no distance from the situation to reassess your core.

Sorry to hear that but I feel there is always room for forgiveness. When you can’t do something face to face, you can do it by invoking the soul energy. There are YouTube videos which teach you how to invoke the soul energy of someone you wish to ask for forgiveness from

“Follow flight of birds” holds so much of meaning. The poem is bound to inspire and transforms into a soaring experience.The soul when steered in the right direction leaves imprints on our mind and reminds us of times gone by.
